Biography
Dr Colonel Prakash Chitalkar is an Armed Forces veteran physician, teacher and ardent pediatric & medical hemato-oncologist. He established and led a composite DM Medical Hemato-Oncology Program over 12 years at the Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences Indore.
He founded and presently co-chairs the Teenage & Young Adult Cancer Foundation, India’s national non- profit focused on young persons with cancer. It is an alliance of professionals with a mission to ensure that every young person with cancer achieves cure, and lives life’s dream.
He hopes to develop molecular pathway driven care pathways for children and young adults with blood, brain and bone cancers, improving their outcomes and the quality of their survival. Fostering best practices in the care of children, ideating research concepts and mentoring young clinicians to create a net of awareness, access, age-appropriate care and advocacy around young persons with cancer is his dream.
